About America Rewind
Welcome to America Rewind. We are dedicated to exploring the rich history and defining moments of America’s past. Our mission is to bring forgotten stories, cultural shifts, and iconic historical figures back to life with accuracy and care.
At America Rewind, we believe history is much more than a simple timeline of dates. It is the foundation of who we are today. Whether you are a dedicated history buff, a student researching a specific era, or just someone who enjoys looking back at retro pop culture, we have something here for you.
Our Staff

Chief Editor
Matt Abraham
Matt Abraham leads the editorial direction at America Rewind. With over a decade of experience in digital publishing, he is responsible for ensuring every piece of content meets strict standards for accuracy and quality. Mathew’s personal research passion is the American Industrial Revolution. He lives in Chicago and is constantly running out of wall space for his growing collection of antique maps.

Senior Editor
Matthew Mauney
Matthew Mauney is the Senior Editor at America Rewind. He holds a BA in American History and spent four years working in digital archiving before joining the team. Matthew ensures our historical deep dives are thoroughly researched and well-structured. He has a particular obsession with the Gilded Age and spends most of his free time hunting down rare photographs from the 1890s.

Writer
Rick Nazden
Rick Nazden is our go-to writer for the weird, the wild, and the wonderfully obscure sides of America’s past. Before joining the team, he spent six years working as a historical society tour guide, which perfectly explains his talent for turning dusty facts into incredible, edge-of-your-seat stories. Rick specializes in Cold War oddities, bizarre mid-century inventions, and the totally forgotten pop culture fads of the 1980s. When his laptop is finally closed for the day, he is usually out scouring local flea markets for vintage cereal boxes or trying to beat the high score on the classic Pac-Man arcade cabinet he restored in his living room.

Writer
Lara Rouse
Lara Rouse brings a background in journalism and cultural studies to her role as Writer. She previously wrote for several local historical society newsletters before bringing her talents to America Rewind. Elaine focuses heavily on the cultural shifts of the 1950s and 1960s, exploring how early television and music shaped modern America. When she is off the clock, she restores vintage radios.
